POM is a high‑crystallinity engineering plastic, commonly known as “steel‑like plastic”. Core features: excellent mechanical properties with high rigidity and high strength. Its wear resistance and fatigue resistance are top‑tier among engineering plastics. It features favorable self‑lubricity and low friction coefficient (dry friction against steel <0.2), enabling long‑term operation under oil‑free conditions. It provides outstanding dimensional stability with extremely low water absorption (<0.25%), resisting deformation in humid surroundings. It also has strong resilience with metal‑like spring properties. Main limitations: poor thermal stability and prone to decomposition at high temperature; difficult for bonding and printing; moderate weather resistance.
